12:28 Therefore, since we are receiving a kingdom that cannot be shaken, let us be thankful and worship God in reverence and fear in a way that pleases him.

In the last verse we just read, the expression, “a kingdom that cannot be shaken” is used. I took the title of this sermon from here. I would like to divide this discussion into three parts.

Firstly, what are the characteristics of the kingdom of God? Secondly, what do we need to do to prepare for the kingdom of God? Thirdly, how did the Lord himself prepare his kingdom of God in advance? Let me read one more verse.

18:5 yet because this widow keeps bothering me, I will grant her justice. Otherwise, she will keep coming and wear me out.’”

18:8 I tell you, he will give them justice quickly. But when the Son of Man comes, will he find faith on earth?”

18:27 Jesus replied, “The things that are impossible for people are possible for God.”

The very last verse we just read gives us the reason to rejoice, doesn't it? “The things that are impossible for people are possible for God.” The impossible turns possible; I would like to make this the subject of today's sermon. Not all things that seem impossible to us are impossible in a real sense.

私たちが、どうして喜びの集いという言葉を使うようになったかと言いますと、悔い改めるからです。へりくだれば主は恵んでくださり、ヤコブ書4章に、厳しい言葉が書いてあります。

10:9 なぜなら、もしあなたの口でイエスを主と告白し、あなたの心で神はイエスを死者の中からよみがえらせてくださったと信じるなら、あなたは救われるからです。
10:10 人は心に信じて義と認められ、口で告白して救われるのです。
10:11 聖書はこう言っています。「彼に信頼する者は、失望させられることがない。」
10:12 ユダヤ人とギリシャ人との区別はありません。同じ主が、すべての人の主であり、主を呼び求めるすべての人に対して恵み深くあられるからです。
10:13 「主の御名を呼び求める者は、だれでも救われる。」のです。

信じることだけではなくて、信頼すること、任せることこそが要求されています。この11節は、よく知られている箇所ですね。彼に信頼する者は、失望させられることがない。この文章を書いたのは、パウロという男でした。ですから、『彼に信頼する者は、失望させられることがない』とは、パウロの告白、パウロの証しです。

24:15 もしも主に仕えることがあなたがたの気に入らないなら、川の向こうにいたあなたがたの先祖たちが仕えた神々でも、今あなたがたが住んでいる地のエモリ人の神々でも、あなたがたが仕えようと思うものを、どれでも、きょう選ぶがよい。私と私の家とは、主に仕える。」
24:23 「今、あなたがたの中にある外国の神々を除き去り、イスラエルの神、主に心を傾けなさい。」
24:24 民はヨシュアに言った。「私たちは私たちの神、主に仕え、主の御声に聞き従います。」

今、読んできてくださった箇所を見ると、我々の目の前には、イスラエル民族の歴史が浮かんできます。今から四千年前に、生けるまことの神は、アブラハムという男の前に姿を現しました。使徒行伝7章2節に、この出来事について、一文章だけ書いてあります。「栄光の神がアブラハムに現われた」と記されています。

16:19 When her owners realized that their hope of making money was gone, they grabbed Paul and Silas and dragged them before the authorities in the public square.
16:20 They brought them before the magistrates and said, “These men are stirring up a lot of trouble in our city. They are Jews
16:21 and are advocating customs that we are not allowed to accept or practice as Romans.”
16:22 The crowd joined in the attack against them. Then the magistrates had Paul and Silas stripped of their clothes and ordered them beaten with rods.
16:23 After giving them a severe beating, they threw them in jail and ordered the jailer to keep them under tight security.
16:24 Having received these orders, he put them into the inner cell and fastened their feet in leg irons.
16:25 Around midnight, Paul and Silas were praying and singing hymns to God, and the other prisoners were listening to them.
16:26 Suddenly, there was an earthquake so violent that the foundations of the prison were shaken. All the doors immediately flew open, and everyone’s chains were unfastened.

6:1 In the year that King Uzziah died, I saw the Lord sitting upon his throne, high and exalted. The train of his robe filled the Temple.

6:2 The seraphim stood above him. Each had six wings: with two he covered his face, and with two he covered his feet, and with two he was flying.

6:3 They kept on calling to each other: “Holy, holy, holy is the Lord of the Heavenly Armies! The whole earth is full of his glory!”

6:4 The foundations of the thresholds quaked at the sound of those who kept calling out, and the Temple was filled with smoke.

6:5 “How terrible it will be for me!” I cried, “because I am ruined! I’m a man with unclean lips, and I live among a people with unclean lips! And my eyes have seen the King, the Lord of the Heavenly Armies!”

6:6 Then one of the seraphim flew to me, carrying a burning coal in his hand that he had taken from the altar with tongs.

6:7 He touched my mouth and said, “Look! Now that this has touched your lips, your guilt is taken away, and your sins atoned for.”

6:8 Then I heard the voice of the Lord as he was asking, “Whom will I send? Who will go for us?” “Here I am!” I replied. “Send me.”

40:26 目を高く上げて、だれがこれらを創造したかを見よ。この方は、その万象を数えて呼び出し、一つ一つ、その名をもって、呼ばれる。この方は精力に満ち、その力は強い。一つももれるものはない。

40:27 ヤコブよ。なぜ言うのか。イスラエルよ。なぜ言い張るのか。「私の道は主に隠れ、私の正しい訴えは、私の神に見過ごしにされている。」と。

40:28 あなたは知らないのか。聞いていないのか。主は永遠の神、地の果てまで創造された方。疲れることなく、たゆむことなく、その英知は測り知れない。

40:29 疲れた者には力を与え、精力のない者には活気をつける。

40:30 若者も疲れ、たゆみ、若い男もつまずき倒れる。

40:31 しかし、主を待ち望む者は新しく力を得、鷲のように翼をかって上ることができる。走ってもたゆまず、歩いても疲れない。

41:1 島々よ。わたしの前で静まれ。諸国の民よ。新しい力を得よ。近寄って、今、語れ。われわれは、こぞって、さばきの座に近づこう。

今日の主題、題名は、このイザヤ書41章の1節ですね。『わたしの前で静まれ。』現代人にとって、もっとも大切なことのひとつは、それなのではないでしょうか。

10:8 But what does it say? “The message is near you. It is in your mouth and in your heart.” This is the message about faith that we are proclaiming:
10:9 If you declare with your mouth that Jesus is Lord, and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved.
10:10 For one believes with his heart and is justified, and declares with his mouth and is saved.
10:11 The Scripture says, “Everyone who believes in him will never be ashamed.”
10:12 There is no difference between Jew and Greek, because they all have the same Lord, who gives richly to all who call on him.
10:13 “Everyone who calls on the name of the Lord will be saved.”

Among these verses we just read, I believe that you all have read the verse 11 repeatedly and are convinced of it; “The Scripture says....” The only thing that matters is what the scripture says. It is not important at all what people say, or what churches and assemblies tell you.
