I would like to begin this sermon with this passage from the Gospel according to Matthew, chapter 16 verses 13 to 25:
When Jesus came into the coasts of Caesarea Philippi, he asked his disciples, saying, Whom do men say that I the Son of man am?
And they said, Some say that you are John the Baptist: some, Elias; and others, Jeremias, or one of the prophets.
He said to them, But whom say you that I am?
And Simon Peter answered and said, You are the Christ, the Son of the living God.
And Jesus answered and said to him, Blessed are you, Simon Barjona:
for flesh and blood has not revealed it to you, but my Father which is in heaven. And I say also to you, That you are Peter, and on this rock I will build my church; and the gates of hell shall not prevail against it. And I will give to you the keys of the kingdom of heaven: and whatever you shall bind on earth shall be bound in heaven: and whatever you shall loose on earth shall be loosed in heaven.
Then charged he his disciples that they should tell no man that he was Jesus the Christ. From that time forth began Jesus to show to his disciples, how that he must go to Jerusalem, and suffer many things of the elders and chief priests and scribes, and be killed, and be raised again the third day.
Then Peter took him, and began to rebuke him, saying, Be it far from you, Lord: this shall not be to you. But he turned, and said to Peter, Get you behind me, Satan: you are an offense to me: for you mind not the things that be of God, but those that be of men.
Then said Jesus to his disciples, If any man will come after me, let him deny himself, and take up his cross, and follow me. For whoever will save his life shall lose it: and whoever will lose his life for my sake shall find it. (Matthew 16:13-25)

彼らは言った。「バプテスマのヨハネだと言う人もあり、エリヤだと言う人もあります。またほかの人たちはエレミヤだとか、また預言者のひとりだとも言っています。」
イエスは彼らに言われた。「あなたがたは、わたしをだれだと言いますか。」

Be Filled with the Holy Spirit

When all the people had been baptized, Jesus too was baptized. While he was praying, heaven opened and the Holy Spirit descended on him, appearing in the form of a dove. Then a voice came from heaven, saying, “You are my Son, whom I love. I am pleased with you!” (Luke 3:21-22)
You, however, are not under the control of human nature but under the control of the Spirit, since God’s Spirit lives in you. And if anyone does not have the Spirit of the Messiah, he does not belong to him. (Romans 8:9)
Stop getting drunk with wine, which leads to wild living, but keep on being filled with the Spirit. (Ephesians 5:18)

Today, I would like to discuss some aspects of being filled with the Holy Spirit.
聖霊に満たされなさい

さて、民衆がみなバプテスマを受けていたころ、イエスもバプテスマをお受けになり、そして祈っておられると、天が開け、聖霊が、鳩のような形をして、自分の上に下られるのをご覧になった。また、天から声がした。「あなた睦わたしの愛する子、わたしはあなたを喜ぶ。」（ルカ3・21～22）
けれども、もし神の御霊があなたがたのうちに住んでおられるなら、あなたがたは肉の中にではなく、御霊の中にいるのです。キリストの御霊を持たない人は、キリストのものではありません。（口ーマ8・9）
また、酒に酔ってはいけません。そこには放蕩（ほうとう）があるからです。御霊に満たされなさい。（エペソ5・18）
