I would like to continue the discussion with you about the “necessity, importance and possibility of the revival.” The word 'revival' does not sound like Japanese. Actually, it is taken from English. It refers to the 'spiritual awakening', 'the reconstruction of faith', or 'the resurrection of our faith.'

今、お読みになりました箇所とは、ダビデの告白であり、祈りです。人間はいろいろなことで悩むと、やはりダビデの祈りを自分のものにしなさいと言いたい気持ちです。時代遅れになりません。詩篇とは、本当に宝ものです。詩篇を読みならが祈って、祈りながら詩篇を読むと、見方が変わります。希望を持つようになります。あきらめる必要はない。主は生きておられます。

These verses we just read are the confession and prayer of David. When I see people who are distressed, I suggest to them to recite these prayers.. They will never become obsolete. The Psalms are so precious. If you pray reading the Psalms and read the Psalms with prayers, your vision will be changed. You will be given hope. You do not have to give it up. The Lord is alive.

もう一箇所、お読みいたします。ルカ伝の十八章から、よく知られている箇所です。

18:9 自分を義人だと自任し、他の人々を見下している者たちに対しては、イエスはこのようなたとえを話された。
18:10 「ふたりの人が、祈るために宮に上った。ひとりはパリサイ人で、もうひとりは取税人であった。
18:11 パリサイ人は、立って、心の中でこんな祈りをした。『神よ。私はほかの人々のようにゆする者、不正な者、姦淫する者ではなく、ことにこの取税人のようではないことを、感謝します。
18:12 私は週に二度断食し、自分の受けるものはみな、その十分の一をささげております。』
18:13 ところが、取税人は遠く離れて立ち、目を天に向けようともせず、自分の胸をたたいて言った。『神さま。こんな罪人の私をあわれんでください。』
18:14 あなたがたに言うが、この人が、義と認められて家に帰りました。パリサイ人ではありません。なぜなら、だれでも自分を高くする者は低くされ、自分を低くする者は高くされるからです。」
聖書全体の言わんとしていることは、この十四節にまとめられているのではないでしょうか。「だれでも自分を高くする者は低くされ、自分を低くする者は高くされるからです。」

18:9 Jesus also told this parable to some people who trusted in themselves, thinking they were righteous, but who looked down on everyone else:
18:10 “Two men went up to the Temple to pray. One was a Pharisee, and the other was a tax collector.
18:11 The Pharisee stood by himself and prayed, ‘O God, I thank you that I’m not like other people―thieves, dishonest people, adulterers, or even this tax collector.
18:12 I fast twice a week, and I give a tenth of my entire income.’
18:13 “But the tax collector stood at a distance and would not even look up to heaven. Instead, he continued to beat his chest and said, ‘O God, be merciful to me, the sinner that I am!’
18:14 I tell you, this man, rather than the other one, went down to his home justified, because everyone who exalts himself will be humbled, but the person who humbles himself will be exalted.”
What the whole Bible wants to tell us is summarized in this verse 14—“everyone who exalts himself will be humbled, but the person who humbles himself will be exalted.”

もっとも大切なのは、主イエス様を知ることです。より良く知ることなのではないでしょうか。そのために必要なのは、いわゆるリバイバルです。英語の言葉も使いましょう。『リバイバル』という言葉です。
昔のリバイバル聖歌もありましたし、リバイバルという言葉は、確かに英語の言葉ですけれども、日本語に直すと、『霊的覚醒』、あるいは、信仰の復興、信仰の復活を意味します。眠ってしまった信じる者は、リバイバル、信仰の復興を必要とします。

Nothing is more important for us than to understand the Lord Jesus. What is required for this is the so-called 'revival.' I dare to use this English word, 'Revival.'
We used to sing a hymn for the revival. We often use this English word, 'revival' in Japanese conversation. It refers to the spiritual awakening, the reconstruction of faith or the resurrection of our faith. Believers who have fallen asleep need the revival—the reconstruction of their faith.
主を知る大切さ

今、読んできてくださった箇所の内容とは、「主イエス様を知る大切さ、必要性、また、可能性」についてなのではないかと思います。我々人間にとって、もっとも大切なのは、主イエス様を知ることです。どうしたら、イエス様をより良く知ることができるのでしょうか。二つのことが言えます。まず第一に、私たちが、主に試されることによってです。第二に、私たちが、主を試すことによってです。

3:10 “Bring the entire tithe into the storehouse that there may be food in my house. So put me to the test in this right now,” says the Lord of the Heavenly Armies, “and see if I won’t throw open the windows of heaven for you and pour out on you blessing without measure.
Philippians
3:8 What is more, I continue to consider all these things to be a loss for the sake of what is far more valuable, knowing the Messiah Jesus, my Lord. It is because of him that I have experienced the loss of all those things. Indeed, I consider them rubbish in order to gain the Messiah.
These verses we just read tell us the “importance, necessity and possibility of knowing the Lord Jesus.” What is most important for us is to know the Lord Jesus. How can we understand Jesus better? Two things are necessary.
