2:9 すると、主の使いが彼らのところに来て、主の栄光が回りを照らしたので、彼らはひどく恐れた。
2:10 御使いは彼らに言った。「恐れることはありません。今、私はこの民全体のためのすばらしい喜びを知らせに来たのです。
2:11 きょうダビデの町で、あなたがたのために、救い主がお生まれになりました。この方こそ主キリストです。

2:10 シオンの娘よ。喜び歌え。楽しめ。見よ。わたしは来て、あなたのただ中に住む。――主の御告げ。――

このことばは同時に、クリスマスのメッセージなのではないでしょうか。三つの事柄について考えたいと思います。

まず、第一に、どのような状況に置かれても、そうたやすくすることができないようなこと、すなわち、喜び歌い、楽しむということに対する提案ではなくて、命令がなされているということです。

Zechariah
2:10 Sing and rejoice, daughter of Zion! Take note! I am coming to live in your midst,” declares the Lord.

Supposing that this last verse is, at the same time, the message for Christmas day. I would like to consider three things today.

To begin with, we actually are commanded, rather than encouraged, to rejoice, sing and be glad under any circumstances, which is not such an easy thing to do.

2:15 When the angels had left them and gone back to heaven, the shepherds told one another, “Let’s go to Bethlehem and see what has taken place that the Lord has told us about.”

1:14 I observed every activity done on earth. My conclusion: all of it is pointless―like chasing after the wind.

1:16 I told myself, “I have become greater and wiser than anyone who ruled before me in Jerusalem―yes, I have acquired a great deal of wisdom and knowledge.”

1:17 So I dedicated myself to learn about wisdom and knowledge, and about insanity and foolishness. And I discovered that this is also like chasing after the wind.

16:2 主人は、彼を呼んで言った。『おまえについてこんなことを聞いたが、何ということをしてくれたのだ。もう管理を任せておくことはできないから、会計の報告を出しなさい。』
16:3 管理人は心の中で言った。『主人にこの管理の仕事を取り上げられるが、さてどうしよう。土を掘るには力がないし、こじきをするのは恥ずかしいし。
16:4 ああ、わかった。こうしよう。こうしておけば、いつ管理の仕事をやめさせられても、人がその家に私を迎えてくれるだろう。』
16:5 そこで彼は、主人の債務者たちをひとりひとり呼んで、まず最初の者に、『私の主人に、いくら借りがありますか。』と言うと、
16:6 その人は、『油百バテ。』と言った。すると彼は、『さあ、あなたの証文だ。すぐにすわって五十と書きなさい。』と言った。

読んでいただいた、『不正な管理人』のたとえですけれど、非常に難解な話なんです。難解な話ではありますが、一度は学びたいと私も思っていて、今日はチャレンジであります。

3:11 というのは、だれも、すでに据えられている土台のほかに、ほかの物を据えることはできないからです。その土台とはイエス・キリストです。

3:12 もし、だれかがこの土台の上に、金、銀、宝石、木、草、わらなどで建てるなら、

3:13 各人の働きは明瞭になります。その日がそれを明らかにするのです。というのは、その日は火とともに現われ、この火がその力で各人の働きの真価をためすからです。

3:14 もしだれかの建てた建物が残れば、その人は報いを受けます。

3:15 もしだれかの建てた建物が焼ければ、その人は損害を受けますが、自分自身は、火の中をくぐるようにして助かります。

3:12 Whether a person builds on this foundation with gold, silver, expensive stones, wood, hay, or straw,

3:13 the workmanship of each person will become evident, for the day of judgment will show what it is, because it will be revealed with fire, and the fire will test the quality of each person’s action.

3:14 If what a person has built on the foundation survives, he will receive a reward.

3:15 If his work is burned up, he will suffer loss. However, he himself will be saved, but it will be like going through fire.

5:10 For all of us must appear before the judgment seat of the Messiah, so that each of us may receive what he deserves for what he has done in his body, whether good or worthless.

In our previous meetings, we tried to find answers to three questions. Firstly, is it possible for anyone who was born from above to perish? Secondly, how should we hope for the salvation? Thirdly, what may the ones who were reborn possibly lose?

In our previous meetings, we discussed many questions. One of such questions was what the will of the Lord God in our lives was. The answer to this question was that it was to let us receive the life of Jesus, that is to say, an eternal life.

Secondly, we set a question as to how we can obtain the eternal life of Jesus. The answer to this question was that if the Holy Spirit, who is the spirit of God, shows us our sins and Jesus, who died a sacrificial death on behalf of our sins, and then if we confess our sins and rely on Jesus, the Holy Spirit will take our dead spirit back to life.

In the past few meetings, we set up some questions and tried to find answers together. One of our questions was about the intention of the Lord in our lives. The answer was that he wants to let us have his life. It is for us to have the life the Lord has, which is the eternal life.

6:3 Or don’t you know that all of us who were baptized into union with the Messiah Jesus were baptized into his death?

6:4 Therefore, through baptism we were buried with him into his death so that, just as the Messiah was raised from the dead by the Father’s glory, we too may live an entirely new life.

6:5 For if we have become united with him in a death like his, we will certainly also be united with him in a resurrection like his.

6:6 We know that our old natures were crucified with him so that our sin-laden bodies might be rendered powerless and we might no longer be slaves to sin.

6:7 For the person who has died has been freed from sin.

24:15 話し合ったり、論じ合ったりしているうちに、イエスご自身が近づいて、彼らとともに道を歩いておられた。
24:16 しかしふたりの目はさえぎられていて、イエスだとはわからなかった。

24:28 彼らは目的の村に近づいたが、イエスはまだ先へ行きそうなご様子であった。
24:29 それで、彼らが、「いっしょにお泊まりください。そろそろ夕刻になりますし、日もおおかた傾きましたから。」と言って無理に願ったので、イエスは彼らといっしょに泊まるために中にはいられた。

4:3 神のみこころは、あなたがたが聖くなることです。

私たちのものとされ得る救いというテーマについて、一緒に考えてまいりました。三つの疑問について、まず、考えてまいりました。一番目、何を自分のものとしたら良いのでしょうか。答えは、イエス様にある永遠のいのちです。二番目、いかにして、それを自分のものにすることができるかという問いだったんですけど、これに対する答えは、新生によって、イエス様との出会いによってです。そして、三番目、どれくらい多くを、自分のものとしなければいけないかということでした。私たちは、次の四つのことについて、考え始めました。第一番目、新生。二番目、成長。三番目、成熟。四番目、完成。この四つを、私たちも体験しなければなりません。

4:2 You know what instructions we gave you through the Lord Jesus.

4:3 For it is God’s will that you be sanctified: You must abstain from sexual immorality.

We have been discussing together on the subject, “the salvation that is in our hands.” Actually, we set three questions and have been trying to find the answers.

First of all, what is it that we need to obtain? The answer is the eternal life that is in Jesus.

The second question was how we can obtain it and the answer to this question was by regeneration, through the encounter with Jesus.

今回は「どうすれば、主のみこころを知ることができるか」について学びたいと思います。

「みこころを知る道」についてよりよく学ぶためには、ローマ人への手紙8章12節～17節および26節～29節、ピリピ人への手紙1章9節～11節、コロサイ人への手紙1章9節～11節、エペソ人への手紙3章16節～18節を読むことが有益です。結論から言えば、神のみこころは神の霊によって、ただ聖霊の働きによってのみ知ることができるということです。ですから、御霊に導かれる生活こそみこころを知る道なのです。以下では、（1）どうしたら御霊に導かれる生活をすることができるか、（2）どうすれば御霊の導きが分かるか、（3）主の導きに対する従順とその結果はどういうものか、について順に考えたいと思います。

In this article, I would like to discuss how we can understand the intentions of the Lord.

In order to learn “the way to know the will of the Lord” further, it is most helpful to read through the Epistle to Romans, chapter 8, verses 12 to 17 and verses 26 to 29; the Epistle to Philippians, chapter 1, verses 9 to 11; the Epistle to Colossians, chapter 1, verses 9 to 11 and the Epistle to Ephesians, chapter 3, verses 16 to 18. To come right to the point, the intentions of God can be understood through none but the Spirit of God and by nothing but the work of the Holy Spirit. Therefore, the only way to find out what the Lord wants from us is to live according to the guidance of the Holy Spirit. In this article, I would like to discuss this matter from three perspectives: (1) how we can live according to the guidance of the Holy Spirit, (2) how we will know where the guidance of the Holy Spirit is, and (3) the results of sincere obedience to the guidance of the Lord.

3:2 He came to Jesus at night and told him, “Rabbi, we know that you have come from God as a teacher, because no one can perform these signs that you are doing unless God is with him.”

3:3 Jesus replied to him, “Truly, I tell you emphatically, unless a person is born from above he cannot see the kingdom of God.”

3:4 Nicodemus asked him, “How can a person be born when he is old? He can’t go back into his mother’s womb a second time and be born, can he?”

3:5 Jesus answered, “Truly, I tell you emphatically, unless a person is born of water and Spirit he cannot enter the kingdom of God.

3:6 What is born of the flesh is flesh, and what is born of the Spirit is spirit.

3:7 Don’t be astonished that I told you, ‘All of you must be born from above.’

3:8 The wind blows where it wants to. You hear its sound, but you don’t know where it comes from or where it is going. That’s the way it is with everyone who is born of the Spirit.”

2:1 Therefore, if there is any encouragement in the Messiah, if there is any comfort of love, if there is any fellowship in the Spirit, if there is any compassion and sympathy,

2:2 then fill me with joy by having the same attitude, sharing the same love, being united in spirit, and keeping one purpose in mind.

2:3 Do not act out of selfish ambition or conceit, but with humility think of others as being better than yourselves.

2:4 Do not be concerned about your own interests, but also be concerned about the interests of others.

2:5 Have the same attitude among yourselves that was also in the Messiah Jesus:

2:6 In God’s own form existed he, and shared with God equality, deemed nothing needed grasping.

2:7 Instead, poured out in emptiness, a servant’s form did he possess, a mortal man becoming. In human form he chose to be,

2:8 and lived in all humility, death on a cross obeying.

2:9 Now lifted up by God to heaven, a name above all others given, this matchless name possessing.

2:10 And so, when Jesus’ name is called, the knees of everyone should fall wherever they’re residing.

27:46 About three o’clock, Jesus cried out with a loud voice, “Eli, eli, lema sabachthani?”, which means, “My God, my God, why have you forsaken me?”

27:47 When some of the people standing there heard this, they said, “He’s calling for Elijah.”

27:48 So one of the men ran off at once, took a sponge, and soaked it in some sour wine. Then he put it on a stick and offered Jesus a drink.

27:49 But the others kept saying, “Wait! Let’s see if Elijah will come and save him.”

27:50 Then Jesus cried out with a loud voice again and died.

27:51 Suddenly, the curtain in the sanctuary was torn in two from top to bottom, the earth shook, rocks were split open,

27:52 tombs were opened, and many saints who had died were brought back to life.

27:53 After his resurrection, they came out of their tombs and went into the Holy City and appeared to many people.

27:54 When the centurion and those guarding Jesus with him saw the earthquake and the other things that were taking place, they were terrified and said, “This man certainly was the Son of God!”

27:27 Then the governor’s soldiers took Jesus into the imperial headquarters and gathered the whole company of soldiers around him.

27:28 They stripped him and put a scarlet robe on him.

27:29 Twisting some thorns into a victor’s crown, they placed it on his head and put a stick in his right hand. They knelt down in front of him and began making fun of him, saying, “Long live the king of the Jews!”

27:30 Then they spit on him and took the stick and hit him repeatedly on his head.

27:31 When they had finished making fun of him, they stripped him of the robe, put his own clothes back on him, and led him away to crucify him.

27:32 As they were leaving, they found a man from Cyrene named Simon, whom they forced to carry Jesus’ cross.

27:33 When they came to a place called Golgotha (which means “Skull Place”),

27:34 they offered him a drink of wine mixed with gall. But when he tasted it, he refused to drink it.

27:35 After they had crucified him, they determined who would get his clothes by throwing dice for them.

27:36 Then they sat down there and continued guarding him.

27:37 Above his head they placed the charge against him. It read, “This is Jesus, the king of the Jews.”

27:38 At that time two bandits were crucified with him, one on his right and the other on his left.

1:14 ことばは人となって、私たちの間に住まわれた。私たちはこの方の栄光を見た。父のみもとから来られたひとり子としての栄光である。この方は恵みとまことに満ちておられた。

1:16 私たちはみな、この方の満ち満ちた豊かさの中から、恵みの上にさらに恵みを受けたのである。

聖書を知らない人は、この今、読まれた箇所、ヨハネ伝1章1節から、いくら読んでもピンとこない。いったいどういうことか？みことば、みことば、神、神。いったいどういうこと。けれども、14節を見るといっぺんに明らかになる。イエス様か。

1:14 The Word became flesh and lived among us. We gazed on his glory, the kind of glory that belongs to the Father’s unique Son, who is full of grace and truth.

1:16 We have all received one gracious gift after another from his abundance.

To those who don't know the Bible, the first few verses we just read from the beginning of the first chapter of John, would not make any sense at all. What is it trying to tell us? Word. Word. God. God. What do they point to?

3:22 Later, the Lord God said, “Look! The man has become like one of us in knowing good and evil. Now, so he won’t reach out, also take from the tree of life, eat, and then live forever―”

3:23 therefore the Lord God expelled the man from the garden of Eden so he would work the ground from which he had been taken.

3:24 After he had expelled the man, the Lord God placed winged angels at the eastern end of the garden of Eden, along with a fiery whirling sword, to prevent access to the tree of life.

4:1 Later, Adam had sexual relations with his wife Eve. She became pregnant and gave birth to Cain. She said, “I have given birth to a male child with the Lord.”

4:2 She also gave birth to his brother Abel. Abel shepherded flocks and Cain became a farmer.

4:4 while Abel offered the best parts of some of the firstborn from his flock. The Lord looked favorably upon Abel and his offering.
