2:1 こういうわけですから、もしキリストにあって励ましがあり、愛の慰めがあり、御霊の交わりがあり、愛情とあわれみがあるなら、

2:2 私の喜びが満たされるように、あなたがたは一致を保ち、同じ愛の心を持ち、心を合わせ、志を一つにしてください。

2:3 何事でも自己中心や虚栄からすることなく、へりくだって、互いに人を自分よりもすぐれた者と思いなさい。

2:4 自分のことだけではなく、他の人のことも顧みなさい。

2:5 あなたがたの間では、そのような心構えでいなさい。それはキリスト・イエスのうちにも見られるものです。

2:6 キリストは、神の御姿であられる方なのに、神のあり方を捨てることができないとは考えないで、

2:7 ご自分を無にして、仕える者の姿をとり、人間と同じようになられたのです。

2:8 キリストは人としての性質をもって現われ、自分を卑しくし、死にまで従い、実に十字架の死にまでも従われたのです。

2:9 それゆえ、神は、キリストを高く上げて、すべての名にまさる名をお与えになりました。

2:10 それは、イエスの御名によって、天にあるもの、地にあるもの、地の下にあるもののすべてが、ひざをかがめ、

2:11 すべての口が、「イエス・キリストは主である。」と告白して、父なる神がほめたたえられるためです。

2:1 Therefore, if there is any encouragement in the Messiah, if there is any comfort of love, if there is any fellowship in the Spirit, if there is any compassion and sympathy,

2:2 then fill me with joy by having the same attitude, sharing the same love, being united in spirit, and keeping one purpose in mind.

2:3 Do not act out of selfish ambition or conceit, but with humility think of others as being better than yourselves.

2:4 Do not be concerned about your own interests, but also be concerned about the interests of others.

2:5 Have the same attitude among yourselves that was also in the Messiah Jesus:

2:6 In God’s own form existed he, and shared with God equality, deemed nothing needed grasping.

2:7 Instead, poured out in emptiness, a servant’s form did he possess, a mortal man becoming. In human form he chose to be,

2:8 and lived in all humility, death on a cross obeying.

2:9 Now lifted up by God to heaven, a name above all others given, this matchless name possessing.

2:10 And so, when Jesus’ name is called, the knees of everyone should fall wherever they’re residing.

2:11 Then every tongue in one accord, will say that Jesus the Messiah is Lord, while God the Father praising.

27:45 さて、十二時から、全地が暗くなって、三時まで続いた。

27:46 三時ごろ、イエスは大声で、「エリ、エリ、レマ、サバクタニ。」と叫ばれた。これは、「わが神、わが神。どうしてわたしをお見捨てになったのですか。」という意味である。

27:47 すると、それを聞いて、そこに立っていた人々のうち、ある人たちは、「この人はエリヤを呼んでいる。」と言った。

27:48 また、彼らのひとりがすぐ走って行って、海綿を取り、それに酸いぶどう酒を含ませて、葦の棒につけ、イエスに飲ませようとした。

27:49 ほかの者たちは、「私たちはエリヤが助けに来るかどうか見ることとしよう。」と言った。

27:50 そのとき、イエスはもう一度大声で叫んで、息を引き取られた。

27:51 すると、見よ。神殿の幕が上から下まで真二つに裂けた。そして、地が揺れ動き、岩が裂けた。

27:52 また、墓が開いて、眠っていた多くの聖徒たちのからだが生き返った。

27:53 そして、イエスの復活の後に墓から出て来て、聖都にはいって多くの人に現われた。

27:54 百人隊長および彼といっしょにイエスの見張りをしていた人々は、地震やいろいろの出来事を見て、非常な恐れを感じ、「この方はまことに神の子であった。」と言った。

27:45 From noon on, darkness came over the whole land until three in the afternoon.

27:46 About three o’clock, Jesus cried out with a loud voice, “Eli, eli, lema sabachthani?”, which means, “My God, my God, why have you forsaken me?”

27:47 When some of the people standing there heard this, they said, “He’s calling for Elijah.”

27:48 So one of the men ran off at once, took a sponge, and soaked it in some sour wine. Then he put it on a stick and offered Jesus a drink.

27:49 But the others kept saying, “Wait! Let’s see if Elijah will come and save him.”

27:50 Then Jesus cried out with a loud voice again and died.

27:51 Suddenly, the curtain in the sanctuary was torn in two from top to bottom, the earth shook, rocks were split open,

27:52 tombs were opened, and many saints who had died were brought back to life.

27:53 After his resurrection, they came out of their tombs and went into the Holy City and appeared to many people.

27:54 When the centurion and those guarding Jesus with him saw the earthquake and the other things that were taking place, they were terrified and said, “This man certainly was the Son of God!”

27:29 それから、いばらで冠を編み、頭にかぶらせ、右手に葦を持たせた。そして、彼らはイエスの前にひざまずいて、からかって言った。「ユダヤ人の王さま。ばんざい。」

27:30 また彼らはイエスにつばきをかけ、葦を取り上げてイエスの頭をたたいた。

27:31 こんなふうに、イエスをからかったあげく、その着物を脱がせて、もとの着物を着せ、十字架につけるために連れ出した。

27:32 そして、彼らが出て行くと、シモンというクレネ人を見つけたので、彼らは、この人にイエスの十字架を、むりやりに背負わせた。

27:33 ゴルゴタという所（「どくろ」と言われている場所）に来てから、

27:34 彼らはイエスに、苦みを混ぜたぶどう酒を飲ませようとした。イエスはそれをなめただけで、飲もうとはされなかった。

27:35 こうして、イエスを十字架につけてから、彼らはくじを引いて、イエスの着物を分け、

27:36 そこにすわって、イエスの見張りをした。

27:37 また、イエスの頭の上には、「これはユダヤ人の王イエスである。」と書いた罪状書きを掲げた。

27:27 Then the governor’s soldiers took Jesus into the imperial headquarters and gathered the whole company of soldiers around him.

27:28 They stripped him and put a scarlet robe on him.

27:29 Twisting some thorns into a victor’s crown, they placed it on his head and put a stick in his right hand. They knelt down in front of him and began making fun of him, saying, “Long live the king of the Jews!”

27:30 Then they spit on him and took the stick and hit him repeatedly on his head.

27:31 When they had finished making fun of him, they stripped him of the robe, put his own clothes back on him, and led him away to crucify him.

27:32 As they were leaving, they found a man from Cyrene named Simon, whom they forced to carry Jesus’ cross.

27:33 When they came to a place called Golgotha (which means “Skull Place”),

27:34 they offered him a drink of wine mixed with gall. But when he tasted it, he refused to drink it.

27:35 After they had crucified him, they determined who would get his clothes by throwing dice for them.

27:36 Then they sat down there and continued guarding him.

27:37 Above his head they placed the charge against him. It read, “This is Jesus, the king of the Jews.”

27:38 At that time two bandits were crucified with him, one on his right and the other on his left.

1:1 初めに、ことばがあった。ことばは神とともにあった。ことばは神であった。

1:2 この方は、初めに神とともにおられた。

1:3 すべてのものは、この方によって造られた。造られたもので、この方によらずにできたものは一つもない。

1:4 この方にいのちがあった。このいのちは人の光であった。

1:5 光はやみの中に輝いている。やみはこれに打ち勝たなかった。

1:14 ことばは人となって、私たちの間に住まわれた。私たちはこの方の栄光を見た。父のみもとから来られたひとり子としての栄光である。この方は恵みとまことに満ちておられた。

1:16 私たちはみな、この方の満ち満ちた豊かさの中から、恵みの上にさらに恵みを受けたのである。

聖書を知らない人は、この今、読まれた箇所、ヨハネ伝1章1節から、いくら読んでもピンとこない。いったいどういうことか？みことば、みことば、神、神。いったいどういうこと。けれども、14節を見るといっぺんに明らかになる。イエス様か。

1:2 He existed in the beginning with God.

1:3 Through him all things were made, and apart from him nothing was made that has been made.

1:4 In him was life, and that life brought light to humanity.

1:5 And the light shines on in the darkness, and the darkness has never put it out.

1:14 The Word became flesh and lived among us. We gazed on his glory, the kind of glory that belongs to the Father’s unique Son, who is full of grace and truth.

1:16 We have all received one gracious gift after another from his abundance.

To those who don't know the Bible, the first few verses we just read from the beginning of the first chapter of John, would not make any sense at all. What is it trying to tell us? Word. Word. God. God. What do they point to?

3:23 そこで神である主は、人をエデンの園から追い出されたので、人は自分がそこから取り出された土を耕すようになった。

3:24 こうして、神は人を追放して、いのちの木への道を守るために、エデンの園の東に、ケルビムと輪を描いて回る炎の剣を置かれた。

4:1 人は、その妻エバを知った。彼女はみごもってカインを産み、「私は、主によってひとりの男子を得た。」と言った。

4:2 彼女は、それからまた、弟アベルを産んだ。アベルは羊を飼う者となり、カインは土を耕す者となった。

3:21 The Lord God fashioned garments from animal skins for Adam and his wife, and clothed them.

3:22 Later, the Lord God said, “Look! The man has become like one of us in knowing good and evil. Now, so he won’t reach out, also take from the tree of life, eat, and then live forever―”

3:23 therefore the Lord God expelled the man from the garden of Eden so he would work the ground from which he had been taken.

3:24 After he had expelled the man, the Lord God placed winged angels at the eastern end of the garden of Eden, along with a fiery whirling sword, to prevent access to the tree of life.

4:1 Later, Adam had sexual relations with his wife Eve. She became pregnant and gave birth to Cain. She said, “I have given birth to a male child with the Lord.”

4:2 She also gave birth to his brother Abel. Abel shepherded flocks and Cain became a farmer.

4:3 Later, Cain brought an offering to the Lord from the fruit that he had harvested,

4:4 while Abel offered the best parts of some of the firstborn from his flock. The Lord looked favorably upon Abel and his offering.
