15:22 And, behold, a woman of Canaan came out of the same coasts, and cried unto him, saying, Have mercy on me, O Lord, thou Son of David; my daughter is grievously vexed with a devil. 
15:23 But he answered her not a word. And his disciples came and besought him, saying, Send her away; for she crieth after us. 
15:24 But he answered and said, I am not sent but unto the lost sheep of the house of Israel. 
15:25 Then came she and worshipped him, saying, Lord, help me.
15:26 But he answered and said, It is not meet to take the children's bread, and to cast it to dogs. 
15:27 And she said, Truth, Lord: yet the dogs eat of the crumbs which fall from their masters' table. 
15:28 Then Jesus answered and said unto her, O woman, great is thy faith: be it unto thee even as thou wilt. And her daughter was made whole from that very hour.

I would like to start with a letter from a sister who lives here in Vancouver. Our sister, Hiromi, once wrote me a letter which started by citing Verse 12 of Psalm 19.

9:60 Jesus said unto him, Let the dead bury their dead: but go thou and preach the kingdom of God.
9:61 And another also said, Lord, I will follow thee; but let me first go bid them farewell, which are at home at my house.
9:62 And Jesus said unto him, No man, having put his hand to the plough, and looking back, is fit for the kingdom of God.

I went to see a sister the other day right before the bible camp in Nagoya. Her name is Sister Hiromi. She is at a critical state in her life. She is still as young at 48-years-old, but is in the terminal stage of cancer. Her husband killed himself a long time ago. However, I have never seen someone who has suffered from so much be so full of joy. She said to me, “I am so happy to know Jesus. I have nothing to worry about. I am not scared of anything. I am so blessed.” After all, Jesus is the one who can change the life of people this way.

9:60 すると彼に言われた。「死人たちに彼らの中の死人たちを葬らせなさい。あなたは出て行って、神の国を言い広めなさい。」

9:61 別の人はこう言った。「主よ。あなたに従います。ただその前に、家の者にいとまごいに帰らせてください。」

9:62 するとイエスは彼に言われた。「だれでも、手を鋤につけてから、うしろを見る者は、神の国にふさわしくありません。」

119:152 私は昔から、あなたのあかしで知っています。あなたはとこしえからこれを定めておられることを。

119:160 みことばのすべてはまことです。あなたの義のさばきはことごとく、とこしえに至ります。

今日は内容的に、『救いの確信』について、一緒に考えてみたいと思います。

2:20 私はキリストとともに十字架につけられました。もはや私が生きているのではなく、キリストが私のうちに生きておられるのです。いま私が、この世に生きているのは、私を愛し私のためにご自身をお捨てになった神の御子を信じる信仰によっているのです。

今、読んできてくださった箇所は、信じる者にとって、間違いなく一番、大切な言葉なのではないかと思います。

パウロは、このみことばの一節で、個人的な証しをしています。二千年以来、この証しによって、あらゆる国の信者は、大いに祝福されたのであり、今日も、臨在しておられるイエス様は、このみとこばを通して、我々をも祝福なさりたいと、思っておられます。
