19:1 As Jesus entered Jericho and was passing through it,
19:2 a man named Zacchaeus appeared. He was a leading tax collector, and a rich one at that!
19:3 He was trying to see who Jesus was, but he couldn’t do so due to the crowd, since he was a short man.
19:4 So he ran ahead and climbed a sycamore tree to see Jesus, who was going to pass that way.
19:5 When Jesus came to the tree, he looked up and said, “Zacchaeus, hurry and come down! I must stay at your house today.”

4:30 また言われた。「神の国は、どのようなものと言えばよいでしょう。何にたとえたらよいでしょう。

4:31 それはからし種のようなものです。地に蒔かれるときには、地に蒔かれる種の中で、一番小さいのですが、

4:32 それが蒔かれると、生長してどんな野菜よりも大きくなり、大きな枝を張り、その陰に空の鳥が巣を作れるほどになります。」

4:33 イエスは、このように多くのたとえで、彼らの聞く力に応じて、みことばを話された。

4:34 たとえによらないで話されることはなかった。ただ、ご自分の弟子たちにだけは、すべてのことを解き明かされた。

今まで私たちは、二つの点について考えました。第一番目、神の国とは、いったい何でしょうか。二番目、神の国は、現在、どのような現れを示しているかについてです。今日は、第三番目の点について、すなわち、神の国は将来、どのように実現されるのかについて、一緒に考えてみたいと思います。

4:30 He was also saying, “How can we show what the kingdom of God is like, or what parable can we use to describe it?
4:31 It is like a mustard seed planted in the ground. Although it is the smallest of all the seeds on earth,
4:32 when it is planted it comes up and becomes larger than all the garden plants. It grows such large branches that the birds in the sky can nest in its shade.”
4:33 With many other parables like these, Jesus kept speaking his message to them according to their ability to understand.
4:34 He did not tell them anything without using a parable, though he explained everything to his disciples in private.

In our previous meeting, we discussed two things. Firstly, what is the kingdom of God? Secondly, how is the kingdom of God revealed to us at this present time?

Today, I would like to discuss with you briefly the third point, that is to say, how will the kingdom of God be revealed in the future?

18:33 彼らは人の子をむちで打ってから殺します。しかし、人の子は三日目によみがえります。」

18:34 しかし弟子たちには、これらのことが何一つわからなかった。彼らには、このことばは隠されていて、話された事が理解できなかった。

19:2 ここには、ザアカイという人がいたが、彼は取税人のかしらで、金持ちであった。

19:3 彼は、イエスがどんな方か見ようとしたが、背が低かったので、群衆のために見ることができなかった。

19:4 それで、イエスを見るために、前方に走り出て、いちじく桑の木に登った。ちょうどイエスがそこを通り過ぎようとしておられたからである。

18:32 because he will be handed over to the unbelievers, and will be mocked, insulted, and spit on.
18:33 After they have whipped him, they will kill him, but on the third day he will rise again.”
18:34 But they didn’t understand any of this. What he said was hidden from them, and they didn’t know what he meant.
